How to close and restart an app on Apple TV?

What are channel numbers and how do I assign or delete them?
 
The channel numbering is used to assign a number to each channel, which, for example, corresponds to the number on your remote control. In the TV Pro settings under "Add Channels", tap "My Channels" and you can automatically renumber your channels there according to your current order. To change the numbering individually, tap the box with the number in the channel line. To also see the numbering on other devices, tap "Transfer channel list to my other devices" at the very top and then tap Save. On the other devices, tap here on "Load" to load the channels with their numbering. At the very bottom of the channel list, you have the option to remove the channel numbers again.
At the Livestream of the ORF, I see a message that the "Livestream is not available." Why?
 
The ORF has two types of errors when playing the program:

TV Pro & Remote Control: Development and support have been discontinued
 
The remote control in TV Pro was originally developed for various TV manufacturers and tested with many models. Unfortunately, TV manufacturers are constantly changing the protocol for the remote control, so it is almost impossible to keep up with it here. We have therefore reluctantly decided in early 2020 to discontinue support for this. The remote control feature will therefore no longer be developed further. We will leave this feature in the app for existing users for at least two years (as of 03.02.2020) and then remove it. Update 25.08.2022: With version 5 of TV Pro, the remote control code has now been removed. Update 02.09.2022: We are planning a return of the old remote control code after persistent user feedback (strictly for existing users!) in version 5.0.5, without any guarantee of usability and without support. We look forward to the many 5 stars that were promised to us upon the return of the feature 😉 However, we would like to point out that we will have to remove the feature in a later version of TV Pro for technical reasons, as newer iOS versions impose restrictions that no longer allow the code to be used. Also, many (of course nice and purely motivating!) 1-star ratings will then not help either. Unfortunately!
How can I sort the channel order?
 
You can define the channel sort order yourself in TV Pro. The sort order is then taken into account in all views. How it works:
  • Select TV Pro > Settings > Add channels > My channels
  • Tap the handle on the right and drag the channel to the desired position
  • The “Automatic numbering” function can be used to assign numbers to the channels. Alternatively, you can manually assign a number to each channel by clicking on the number field next to the channel.

If numbers have already been assigned in the past, these can be corrected under Settings - Add channels - My channels. Then, as usual, tap on the number fields on the right and enter a different number. Tip: It is easiest to first sort the channels there in the order of your television and then tap on “Automatic numbering” at the top. If you add channels later, they will not automatically be assigned a number. Move the channel back to the desired position and tap on “Automatic numbering” again. If the channel order is still incorrect or some channels cannot be changed, it may help to remove all channel numbers at the very bottom of the “My channels” list and start numbering again.
In the App Store, there are two apps for iPhone / iPad: Live TV IPTV Stream (free) and Live TV Fernsehen IP TV (paid). What is the difference?
 
You can immediately watch a sample selection of channels when you install the Live TV IPTV Stream app. With a Live TV package you can test all features for 7 days for free.
With the Live TV Fernsehen IP TV app, you will get an immediate discount for a period of one month with the purchase of the app. Then, you can freely decide whether you want to extend the app via subscription (same cost as Live TV IPTV Stream).
When I press the Home Button in the Live TV app, the sound continues in the background. How do I turn off this feature?
 
The sound continues in the background, so that you can read the mails briefly while listening to the news. When you return to the Live TV app, you can see the image again. If you do not want this: try tapping the pause button to pause before pressing the home button.

You can also permanently disable this option. To do this, select "Play in background" from "Settings".
My purchased subscription is not recognized. What can I do?
 

1. Check in which app the purchase was made

Please check in the first step in which app and on which platform you purchased the package. You can find the name of the app on the purchase receipt. Alternatively, you can also check in which app you purchased it by looking in the App Store settings under:
App Store > Highlights > at the very bottom on "Apple ID: xxx" > Show Apple ID > Subscriptions
A package should be selected and active here.

2. Open app and transfer product status to TV Pro ID

Please open the app in which you purchased the package in the next step.
  • Please perform the following steps:
    • 1. Open app
    • 2. Open the store in the menu
    • 3. Log in with your TV Pro ID or if you do not have a TV Pro ID yet, create a new TV Pro ID (free)
    • 4. Tap "Restore Purchases"

    3. Restore package on another device or in another app

    To transfer your package to your second device or to another version, please follow these steps:

How can I turn subtitles on and off?
 
In the Live TV Player, you can turn subtitles on or off directly in the picture: Tap once on the picture to display the controls. Then tap the speech bubble symbol on the right to see all subtitle options: If you select a language here, you can then also choose many different styles for your subtitles. Live TV remembers whether you have turned the subtitles on or off for this channel. If subtitles are still displayed even though you have disabled them, check what is set in your iPad or iPhone system settings under Accessibility and there in "Subtitles & Closed Captions". If everything is also switched off here, it can help to briefly switch the switches on and off again.
My LG TV does not work with TV Pro!
 

Please grab the 2 original LG apps from the AppStore. Try to connect your TV to these apps.

    Does Live TV also work abroad like in the USA or in Spain?
     
    TV stations determine the availability of their streams abroad. That is why we can not guarantee whether the corresponding station or show will be available abroad.

    We installed a detector to help determine whether the show is available: a tablet next to the name of the program indicates this. Blue tablets mean that the stream is potentially receivable. Gray means that the stream is not receivable.
    Can I use my own streams in Live TV?
     

    You can add your own streams in Live TV that are specified in an M3U file. This M3U file consists of a list of "m3u8" streams. You create this M3U file according to your wishes and then place it on your own web server. In the home network, a local web server is sufficient, as is often supplied with NAS drives. Then you add the M3U URL in Live TV. Done!

    How does the mapping to the channels work?

    The m3u file must use exactly the names for the stream names that Live TV uses. You can find the exact names of the channels in Live TV under "Settings" > "Channel Selection".

    I have added a stream in my m3u file, but unfortunately it does not appear. Why?

    You can only specify names in the M3U file that also exist in Live TV. All other names are currently ignored by the app and not displayed. In addition, you must ensure that your streams are in the "m3u8" format. Other formats are not supported (rtmp, etc.)

    Where can I find my own streams in Live TV now?

    Own streams are assigned to the existing channel names. Switch to the "Stream" tab, where the channel names will appear if you have assigned a stream.

    Who is the manual addition of own stream sources suitable for?

    For all those who are a little more familiar with the stream subject and for whom terms like M3U are not Chinese. For all those who use a TV receiver or television in the home network that can stream the TV program further in the local network (e.g. in higher resolution) and who want to receive this program with Live TV. We therefore do not provide technical support for this feature. We explicitly point out that this feature is intended for this personal use case.

    How do I stop picture-in-picture playback on Apple TV?
     

    Live TV on Apple TV supports Picture-in-Picture playback, meaning you can continue watching your program while, for example, checking something in another app.

    If you have switched from Live TV back to the Home screen, you can end Picture-in-Picture playback on Apple TV as follows:

    • Press the Apple TV App/Home button on the Siri Remote to display the Picture-in-Picture options menu
    • Swipe on the touch surface to switch between the options
    • Select "Close" ("X") to end Live TV

    This function can also be completely disabled:

    What does the yellow exclamation mark mean at the Play Button?
     
    The yellow exclamation mark can mean the following:

    1. The film format is not compatible on the end device. The film may be suitable for the Apple TV but not on iPhone / iPad or vice versa.

    The TV Pro App can currently only synchronize the watchlist between iOS devices. There is currently no synchronization with TV Pro Apple TV.
    My In-App purchase in Live TV is not active. What can I do?
     

    If your In-App purchase hasn't been activated after the purchase, please follow these steps in the Live TV App on your Mac:

    ‣ Open Live TV on your Mac
    ‣ Choose "Live TV" > "Restore Purchases" from the top menu bar
    ‣ Enter your Apple ID and password
    You will now see a confirmation about the restored purchases.

    How do I turn off app usage over mobile data?
     
    There are two places in iOS to prohibit an app from using Mobile Data. 1. Turn off “Wi-Fi Assist”. This applies to all apps, not just TV Pro Mediathek. To turn it off: Homescreen > Settings > Cellular Then scroll all the way to the end and turn off “Wi-Fi Assist” there. 2. In addition, you can generally prohibit an app from using Mobile Data there.
    How do I remove my Favorites and Downloads?
     
    Go to the favorites view of TV Pro Mediathek and tap the program you want to remove. Now tap the star so that it no longer appears filled.     TV Pro provides three days of TV program in the free version. If you want to use TV Pro for free, you can create a free TV Pro ID and then receive 7 days of TV program. Do you want more?     1. Check in which app the purchase was made

    The synchronization of the favorites list between iPad and iPhone is not working.
     
    For TV Pro 5: Please create a TV Pro ID. The watchlist will be synchronized via the TV Pro ID in the future. From version 5, iCloud will no longer be used for synchronization. For older versions of TV Pro: Please first check whether you are using iCloud Sync with the same Apple ID on both devices. Then check under TV Pro > Settings > Data & iCloud whether the “Sync via iCloud” function is activated. If it is activated, try deleting the TV Pro iCloud data from these settings on both devices and then try again.
    What is TV Pro Gold Max?
     
    TV Pro Gold Max is the new extended Gold package for TV Pro. It includes the new large package “Home Cinema” with Live TV and Streaming Integration and many more features. Users of TV Pro Gold (new name: TV Pro Gold Start) can switch to Gold Max at any time.
    One or more tuners are no longer displaying a program, why?
     
    It may happen that a channel column remains empty in the overview and does not display any program data. Other views in TV Pro that list the channel are also affected. In this case, there is a problem with the channel data of this channel. You do not need to notify us. We are aware of this and are trying to display the program data again as soon as possible.
    If I delete and reinstall the TV Pro App, will I lose my favorites list, channel selection and order?
     
    No, these items are saved in the TV Pro Cloud and become available to you again after a reinstallation and logging in with your TV Pro ID. First, make sure in the TV Pro settings that you are logged in with your TV Pro ID: your name and/or email address should be displayed at the top. Now, tap on "Add Channel" in the settings and then on "Sync" at the top. Now you can save your channel selection in the TV Pro Cloud with "Save". After reinstallation, tap on "Load" here if your channels are not loaded automatically. Your favorites list is saved automatically, you don't need to do anything here.     Does the TV Pro Mediathek also work abroad like in the USA or in Spain?
     
    TV broadcasters determine the availability of their media publications in foreign countries themselves. Therefore, we cannot guarantee whether a show will be available abroad.
    However, we installed a detection in the app: The yellow exclamation mark will show up instead of the play button, indicating that the program cannot be retrieved.
    What is the youth protection package for?
     
    By default, adult content in the TV Pro Mediathek is only available at a later time to fulfill our youth protection obligations. At the request of our customers, we offer the additional functionality of the parental control package to be able to watch programs at any time.
    Can you customize the TV Wall yourself in Live TV for Apple TV?
     
    It is not possible to configure the TV Wall according to your own channels under Apple TV. However, you can switch between different configurations, e.g. Top 4, Top 9 or News. To do this, swipe down in the "TV Wall" section on the Apple Remote to select a configuration.
    How can I switch off the sorting of stations by ratings?

    Recently, root certificates for "Let's Encrypt" expired. Apple has decided not to update root certificates for OS X versions older than macOS 10.12. This means that when apps or Safari on your Mac access websites using Let's Encrypt root certificates, they will not load correctly.

    Assuming a program is running on Friday night at 0:05 AM. In the TV Pro Apps, however, this program appears in the listing on Thursday at 0:05 AM. Why is that? For the TV day, it is assumed that the TV day starts at 5 AM and lasts until 4:59 AM the next day. Two reasons: - If you look in the listing for what’s running on Thursday evening, say from 11 PM, you also want to see the programs that start at 0:05 AM. You "think" it’s still "Thursday evening". Therefore, programs after midnight are also counted as Thursday. - It is based on the "wake cycle", i.e. until you go to bed (hopefully before 5 AM!) programs are counted to the day you got up, i.e. are awake. A program at 2 AM is therefore still counted to the mentioned Thursday and not (calendarically correct) to Friday. Friday contains all programs until Saturday morning at 4:59 AM. From 5 AM the new TV day then starts.
